Club History

Pencoed RFC. was established in 1888 with the clubhouse situated on the eastern edge of Felindre Rd. In what was “The Verlands” once one of the largest private houses in Pencoed. In 1980 the Mini & Junior section was formed, bringing us up to the present day where we now run age groups from under 7’s right through to under 16’s and a youth team. Pencoed RFC takes great pride in being the home club of current Welsh Internationals Gareth Thomas, Gareth Cooper, and Gavin Henson plus recently retired three times British Lion Scott Gibbs, all of whom progressed through our junior and youth teams to perform with distinction on the world stage.
